This last week JJ Thomas won the Monster Mash title. “I am happy to be here, the kids are stoked. It’s cool to because like them I came up through these ranks” Thomas said. For JJ’s win a $5,000 donation was made to USASA in his name. Not a bad way for JJ to wrap up his competitive winter by giving back 5 thousand to charity!

JJ Thoms Monster Mash Podium

JJ Thomas going Big again
JJ Thomas is on a roll, after a win at his last contest (Dew Tour) and winning the overall Dew Tour Cup Title he keeps the winning streak going by putting it down at Aspen in the Aspen Open today! Congrats JJ!! And good work to Brennen Swanson too, he didn’t make the podium but Brennen is so young we know he has plenty of future podiums to come.

Yea.Nice owner and rider JJ Thomas is stacking up more podiums this season then some pros can claim in a career. Last night JJ proved himself again by winning his first Dew Tour and winning the overall Dew Tour Cup Title taking home $40,000. JJ is so humble he dedicated his win to Danny Davis (who broke his back a couple weeks ago), calling him the “best halfpipe rider ever”…YEA.NICE JJ!! On top of all that Yea.Nice rider Brennen Swanson got on his first podium this year taking 2nd place!

JJ Thomas finished in 5th place at X-Games halfpipe finals. It was a battle, and JJ had a rough practice so going into his first run he considered it another practice run and then really put it down on his 2nd run giving him a score to land him in 2nd and ending up in 5th after everyth was said and done. Tomorrow JJ is making a webisode with 50 Cent so stay tuned to yeanice.com. Go JJ!!
Tonight was a crazy elimination round and only the top 8 made the cut. Shaun White landed an epic run and so did JJ Thomas. JJ ended up in 5th putting him straight to finals. Unfortunately Yea.Nice rider Zack Black didn’t make it in, and even had a weird start to his 2nd run that involved him unstrapping after trying to drop in. Stay tuned to ESPN to watch JJ in the X-Games halfpipe finals.
Today was an unreal day in the halfpipe. Danny Davis did the best pipe run anyone has ever seen, and today Shaun White couldn’t compete with it. In fact Shaun hiked up after the contest was over to re-do his last hit but he ended up slamming his face against the top of the wall. JJ put down a sick first run, but didn’t get the score he needed to hold him on the podium and finished in 9th but he’s still in the top 4 for the olympic team. Brennen stomped his first frontside double cork 1080 in a contest, but couldn’t hold it together at bottom. Today was insane, and it’s only the 2nd stop!

Yea.Nice riders JJ Thomas, Josh Sherman, and Zack Black will be at the 2nd Grand Prix stop in Mammoth, CA competing in halfpipe and slopestyle January 6-9th. Cheer on Zack and JJ as they need a podium finish in Mammoth to claim themselves a spot on the Olympic team.
